Enormous congratulations to Hon. Mari Carmen Aponte, who was confirmed by the United States Senate on September 29th as Ambassador to the Republic of Panama. Ambassador Aponte previously served as Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere for the US Department of State (2016-2017), and as the US Ambassador to El Salvador (2010-2016). We thank Ambassador Aponte for her years of service as an ISLP board member — we will miss her! — and we wish her the very best in this exciting appointment.
