Investment & Trade
ISLP supports governments to incentivize, secure, structure, and mobilize sustainable investment and trade. We provide legal counsel to governments in their efforts to enforce sound and transparent legal and regulatory frameworks that can incentivize investment and trade, including public-private partnerships. To that end, in addition to transactional, legislative, and policy expertise, ISLP’s volunteer network offers a breadth of sector-specific expertise, including in the agriculture, health, infrastructure, and tourism sectors. In addition, we can assist least-developed countries with respect to litigation or arbitration claims made by foreign investors, especially in contexts in which the claims limit the government’s ability to regulate in the public interest.
