Civil Society Engagement
ISLP aims to support effective civil society participation in development decisions and to enhance local advocacy strategies to promote sound environmental and social standards in large-scale development projects. ISLP also aims to facilitate knowledge exchange between civil society and other stakeholders (public and private) so that the latter gain a better understanding of community needs and social and environmental impact, and are incentivized to address them. Our civil society engagement work draws upon our volunteers’ wide range of sector expertise, including in energy, infrastructure, extractives, environment, biodiversity, land use management, agriculture, forestry, and transportation.
