Strengthening Constitutionality and the Rule of Law in The Gambia

Over the 20th and 21st of December 2017, a Lawyer’s Conference entitled “Strengthening Constitutionality and the Rule of Law in The Gambia” is in progress which ISLP’s In Country Legal Fellow Alessandra Mistura is attending.

The conference, organized by the Ministry of Justice with the support of UNDP, seeks to provide a national forum for the interaction between Gambian lawyers, at home and abroad, with a view to sharing knowledge and skills to support the process of legal and constitutional reforms that are currently under way in the country.

The two-day program will see the participation of prominent Gambian lawyers belonging to national entities, such as the National Assembly and the Gambia Bar Association, and to international organizations and tribunals, such as the African Development Bank, the International Criminal Court and the United Nations.
